Character News - work experience in Albania
In this half term Kejtlin (Y10) applied to NCs Character Education to visit Albania to attend school and work experience.
Here she is being interviewed in her school uniform on regional news!
"When I first got there students started to ask so many questions about me and North Cestrian. They were all brilliant people. For each lesson, they all brought their own book to class and worked out of textbooks. Something that had a huge impact on the students was that, instead of a projector, they had a chalkboard in front of the class and after each question that was answered, a student would have to come up and write down their workings out plus their reasoning for each question. This taught me something very important, which is that students at North Cestrian do not take advantage of our opportunities. We get everything handed to us, including a purple pen. I did find that answering a question on the chalkboard did help the students a lot, as they got to learn off of their classmates. The best part about my experience was how I got to see other countries and nationalities learn English from me. I got to teach the class and explain the subject in more detail. But at the end of the day, everything brilliant comes to an end and, for all the fun, I had to say goodbye and go home. I am forever grateful that my school and parents were able to help me with this opportunity."
