U14 Girls Crowned Trafford Champions for the First Time in School History

North Cestrian’s U14 Girls Basketball team has made history — and we could not be prouder. In a thrilling display of determination, teamwork, and resilience, our girls have been crowned Trafford Champions, securing the school’s first-ever major sporting trophy.
This extraordinary achievement is the result of months of hard work both on and off the court. The team have trained with dedication, shown outstanding commitment to improving their skills, and demonstrated a level of maturity and teamwork well beyond their years. Every player contributed to the success of the squad, embracing challenges, supporting one another, and consistently raising their game when it mattered most.

Throughout the tournament, the girls demonstrated a fantastic blend of technical skill and tactical awareness — moving the ball with confidence, defending with discipline, and displaying real composure under pressure. Their performances were a testament not only to their talent, but also to their remarkable character and team spirit.
Winning the Trafford Championship marks a significant milestone for the school. It represents the strength of our Physical Education programme and highlights the incredible potential of our young athletes. The pride felt across the school community is immense; staff, students, and families have all been inspired by this team’s journey.
A huge congratulations to the entire squad — your hard work, perseverance, and belief have made school history. We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved, and we can’t wait to see what comes next for this talented group.
Well done, Champions!
