Character News - Freya raises funds

This year I took part in the annual 28 Challenge for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People for the fifth time. Each year I choose a different way to fundraise and set myself a new goal. This year I have raised over £500, and over the five years I have now raised more than £2,100 in total. (Freya C Y10)

Out of 249 participants across the UK, I am currently the 5th highest fundraiser.

I believe this demonstrates several of the Cestrian Characteristics:

  • Resilience – I have committed to this challenge for five years and continued even when fundraising has been difficult.
  • Initiative and Leadership – I organise and promote my own fundraising ideas independently.
  • Compassion and Social Responsibility – I am supporting a charity that makes a life-changing difference to deaf people and their families.
  • Commitment to Personal Growth – Each year I challenge myself to improve on what I achieved previously.
