Character News - First Public Speaking Contest

North Cestrian School's first Public Speaking Contest was a roaring success!

Connor Rand MP was our guest judge and opened the event with a speech showcasing the character demands of political speaking in the Houses of Parliament.

All 10 finalists were magnificent and there was very little difference in terms of crowning the champion. Younger pupils had developed a great deal from rehearsals by using the feedback from Miss Johnson and Mr Bell, and no doubt we saw champions of the future. However, the greatest oracy was seen from Amara (Y8) on How to Rob a Black Hole, Callum (Y11) on Revision, and the champion Eishal (Y10) on Women in STEM Careers.

The event really did display the best of North Cestrian with Mr Wilson's GCSE Musicians and Mr Millard's GCSE Food chefs ensuring that the audience were well entertained.
