School Uniform
Uniform
It is right that school supports the government guidance in ensuring school uniform is affordable and good value for money. By keeping the number of branded items to a minimum; whilst setting out clear guidance, we believe the policy creates a uniform that is smart and practical.
- Blazer with school crest*
- White long sleeved/short-sleeved blouse with revere collar and/or White Long sleeved/short-sleeved shirt with collar for tie.
- School Tie with crest. This must be worn with the white long/short sleeved collared shirt. The ties are bought directly from school, available from late May 2023
- Grey Trousers (should be formal, suit-type, not jeans or ‘skinny’) and/or Grey pleated skirt (must be long enough to be at knee height). Skirt can be with school logo* or generic (see examples below)
- Grey V-Necked Jumper
- Black Socks – calf-length or shorter and/or Black tights – opaque, plain
- Black shoes – these must be black all over with no coloured logos etc. If the shoe looks like a sports shoe, then please do not buy it.
- Coats Plain, sensible outdoor coats to be worn over the school blazer. No large unsightly logos. No hoodies as coat substitutes. ‘Fleece coats’ must be obvious as such.
* Purchased from school stockists
Hair, make-up, jewellery
- School is not a fashion show: pupils need to learn to dress appropriately and this applies to school too.
- Hair should be natural colour: if it doesn’t look natural, it is not permitted. Conservatively styled. Cuts to eyebrows are not acceptable. There should be no false eyelashes or extensions.
- No make-up (including nail varnish, false nails) should be worn: if it’s noticeable, it needs to be removed.
- Only one small stud earring per ear lobe is allowed. No other body piercings are allowed. A small discreet necklace may be worn as long as it is mostly not visible.
- Hats, scarves allowed as outdoor garments only
- Religious head coverings are permitted – plain dark blue or black. This should form part of the regular and sincere religious observance of the pupil.
- Naming: Every article of clothing must be clearly marked with the owner’s name.
IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING, BAGS AND PENCIL CASES ETC ARE CLEARLY NAMED.
N.B. The Headmaster’s judgement on acceptable uniform is final.
